We are pleased to confirm that Dany Kiyimi has let Sasol Leuus' management know, that he will keep on racing at least a year longer! He could have safely retired quite a while back, but we are more than happy to have his broad grin and wide shoulders stick around for just a bit longer!
"I still got good legs and enjoy my work, so why not keep on racing?", Kiyimi joked. "Also, I'm still wearing my countries colours in races for the national team, so why stop, if I can still help my young team-mates both in the lion-pack and the national team?", a proudly grinning Dany added.
Expected to make his 60th appearance for the Central African Republic's world-tour line-up soon, he will surely help keep our younger riders safely out of wind and danger in quite a few races yet to come. Will he still make it 20 seasons in the OCM peloton for Sasol Leeus? Who knows, but it after his announcement to stick around for "at least" for another season, it appears to be quite within the realm of possibility. Having joined us in Cape Town back in Season 39, he would have to keep on racing for another two seasons from now on. He would be 40 by then. Doesn't sound too far fetched.
When asking Dany weather making it two decades, he just grinned and blinked. "As long as its fun, it's fun. When I feel I'm no longer competitive or will no longer enjoy what I'm doing, I'll call it a day. But that day has not yet come."
Considering he has never one a single race or even scored a result ever in his long career, it is even more astonishing that Dany still seems to love his profession and sport so much. Talk about a benevolent work-horse!

those domestiques just labouring away for their respective captains really are the unsung heroes of the sport! ;)
Some riders just don't need wins to feel valuable ;)
